Rhizoctonia leaf blight
Cause : Rhizoctonia solani
Symptoms : large, pale brown, blighted lesions with an irregular border. The browning of the leaf along the tip and margin will progressing until the whole leaf becomes blighted.
How to control :
1. Biocontrol : Trichoderma harzianum
2. Monitoring the disease once a week.
3. Pruning
4. Burn the infected leaves.
5. If the damage more than 10 % use Carbendazim 60 % WP 12 g/water 20 litre or Chemical Injection
6. Foliar spray : (Protectant Fungicide)Copper oxychloride 85 % WP 50 g/water 20 litre mixed with Mancozeb 77 g/water 20 liter
Algal leaf Spot
Cause : Cephaleuros virescens and Trentepohlia sp.
Symptoms : small grayish green spot on the surface of the leave. The color turn to orange when pathogen reach a maturity stage. Not a serious problem only reduce the photosynthesis.
Control : copper oxychloride
Antracnose (Collectotricum gloesporoides)
Symptom : necrotic spot with gray-brown enter with acervuli. Distortion in young leaf , Twig die back. No economic damage recorded.
Root and Stem Rot
Cause : Phytophthora palmivora (Butler)
Symptoms : yellow leaves, leaves fall.
Control : Stem - scraped bark and apply methalaxyl 25% or 35 % WP at 50-60 g/water 20 litre or fosetyl aluminium 80 %WP 100-150 g/water 20 litre
Root Rot : brown to black fibrous root apply fosetyl aluminium 80 %WP 40 g/water 20 litre apply at the base
Durian Stem Borer (Bactocera gultata) and (Zeuzera coffeane) attack durian stem and controlled through trunk injection with Dimethoate or Fenthion.
Caution: use chemical alternately to prevent from disease resistance.
